Dayton is in Northern KY on the Ohio river. When the Cincinnati Reds hit a homerun, I can see the fireworks from my backyard. Kinda have a microcosm here as I am in the river valley just 4 blocks from the flood wall. Great dark floodplain soil for over 2 ft deep. Down side, small city lot.

OK -- so north of Louisville. I'm in Western Kentucky -- on the Ohio River. So I'm just downriver a tad from you!! Lucky you to have that kind of soil. It's all heavy clay here.........

The dwarfs bloom here in order according to the bed in which they are planted. Some of the minis have finished. One is really a species cross years ago & will rebloom if conditions are right in the fall. It is called 'Velvet Toy' & while it did not bloom last year, it is going to make up for it now. computer did not like term 'rebloom'. tough!

I find spell-check has no plant vocabulary to speak of.

Mona ~ I'm about 30 miles from Schreiners and am hoping to go to their Mother's Day shindig, although past experience tells me this may be dangerous! Mid America is their neighbor so double trouble!
