Hello
I started in September 2012 to collect some heucheras
Sweet tea, sugar plum,Lime rickey, Redstones falls, Berry Fizz, Peach Flambé,Solar eclipse,Autumn leaves
Tiarella Appalachian Trail and Spring Symphony
I still have 2/3 seats in the ground and I think it is interesting
install them as pot.
I think I'll find Delta dawn I missed in September
I like the colors changing heucheras
Your advice is welcome

Bonjour Rosebud and welcome to All Things Plants. You have a nice collection of heuxs and I wanted to share my experience with Delta Dawn, just purchased last yr in my 7A garden.

This is a photo of leaf color taken a few days ago.

By June the color starts fading.

Thumb of 2013-04-21/dormantsrule/feff4a

By August the leaves were all green.

Berry Smoothie is a knockout in the spring.

Coral Bells (Heuchera 'Berry Smoothie')

Some other favorites are Citronelle, Stainless Steel, Solar Power, Shanghai, Brass Lanterns, Midnight Bayou, Spellbound and Stoplight.

The breeder of some of the best Heuchera is from France, Thierry Delabroye. To me no collection should be without Caramel. Overall I think his are the best growing of all the Heuchera.

I agree with you Bob. I love color foliage because flowers are a fleeting endeavor. I fell in love with this plant and have worked hard to find the ones that survive and Thierry Delabroye creations have been the best and the ones developed by (I cannot think of the name now) but one here in Pennsylvania.

It is not helpful to pay almost 20.00 for a plant that only survive one season, at least not with my budget.

To answer your question. It seems anything purple seems survive well for me......and so far my favorites are....
Caramel
Stainless Steel
Georgia Peach

Right now Brass Lantern is a favorite.

Sugar Plum is doing well too.

Another one I have to mention is an older one I've grown for years. It's Swirling Fantasy and is a favorite because it is the most sun tolerate I have found. It also has the best looking flowers of any I grow. They are deep rose, almost red and put on a great display over a long period of time. I'm not expecting much this year since I divided them last fall, but here is a photo from a few years ago.
