I've gotten to know a lot of people because they like to walk by my house and see what's bloomng. It's raining this morning and I just snapped a quick shot from the deck. The back is still pretty torn up around the edges where I'm redoing the areas near the new fence. I am also redoing all the paths. The two center beds have lots of daylilies and lilies blooming. I'm planted a number of hydrangea, butterfly bushes and other \bushes around the lot lines and am still working on the new shade area in the far right corner beneath the Seven Son's Tree.
Thanks. I sure wish the lantanas and other annuals I have planted in the corners and around the edges would take off and grow. With the colder weather in May, they ae behind. In the forst photo you can see how small the lantana still is. By fall it will fill in the whole corner. I have 4 of them planted along the sidewalk area. They are good for attracting butterflies.
I love lantana but agree with Rita it is pretty expensive.. And they are not hardy here either.. This year I tried to not spend very much on garden plants so, next year I may buy a couple of lantana..mine grew huge last year in the hot and dry weather we had in Indiana.
Susan your gardens are lovely as usual. I have 'Sudden Fire' day lily that I purchased from you back in the beginning of ATP.. Does anyone still post sale of things on here. I know there were lots of folks selling when it first began but I am not on so much so just wondering.

Very, very lovely! I am starting to plant a border along a new sidewalk put in. It doesn't look like you mulch, how do you contain the weeds in your sidewalk bed(s)?
Sorry to have been gone so long. I'm having trouble downloading my photos to the computer, but finally got some to post. These were taken in July when the lilies and daylilies were both in full bloom.
Sandy, I wish I could mulch more. It just gets too expensive to have to do it every other year or so. I do use Preen and Green once a year after doing the first weeding and before most of the seeds have germinated. It would help if I could do that again in July, but I usually don't get around to it. I just weed by hand as I'm out watering and dead heading. Planting close together really helps too.
Susan, I just looked at all the beautiful plants in your garden. It's a colorful display to say the least and it's easy to see that you put a lot of hard work into. Bravo!!
