I thought I would post this.
I found this todayThumb of 2013-05-01/springcolor/b0abeb Poor thing.

Thumb of 2013-05-01/springcolor/3af18f Just not many roots so, it must have gotten to wet this winter.
Thumb of 2013-05-01/springcolor/0ca39b First I clipped all the old dry stems and such off.
Thumb of 2013-05-01/springcolor/f71877 Make the cuttings. Some of it just pulled apart other I cut from the main plant.
Thumb of 2013-05-01/springcolor/7c0263 dipped in rooting powder.
Thumb of 2013-05-01/springcolor/60234c all done. With any luck I will have a few to share.
I placed the cutting is a cool place out of the rain. I'll get photos in a few weeks.
Thumb of 2013-05-01/springcolor/1f4710 Lipstick is next. Turkey neck needs to go. I will do the something as above and have lots to share. I think heuchera benefit from dividing when they look like this.

Great picture tutorial. Thank you very much for sharing this. They look good and I hope you'll be able to post some progress pictures as they start growing too.

Yes, thank you so much, I tip my hat to you.

When this last (I hope) snow clears I will have to try that with some of mine.

I sure hope some can be saved.

Huechera are supposed to be companion plants to Hosta but how can you put them together if one likes water and the other does not. 😐

Hmmm... I have purchased 4 Huechera plants. If they cannot survive snow or rain perhaps the Huechera is not the right plant to put alongside my Hosta.

They can handle watering but the soil must drain well or the roots rot. I think If hosta are thriving so will heuchera. You can tell i garden where there are winter rains constantly. You on the other hand would have snow cover.

Mine are with hostas and they are fine. In fact, they get covered in at least a foot of snow for six months of the year. When the snow melts, they are the first bit of green I see and THAT is the most encouraging thing for me. Our winters are so long and ninety percent of everything else dies off completely from the ground up, and it takes almost a month to see new shoots coming up out of the ground for most everything else. So, having the heucheras in the early spring is wonderful for me! I admit, we do have well draining soil here, so too much wet isn't an issue, even when the snow is melting. If I were you, I'd try a few for the first winter and add more if they survive.
