What do you plant in your down under pot? I have tried Euphorbia 'Diamond Frost' and Tuberous Begonia.

I want to try something new this year. I have shade and want to attract hummingbirds. Hanging next to it will be a hanging basket of Lavender 'Mona' & a hummingbird feeder.

Has anyone tried Begonia 'Bonfire' in a Down Under Pot?

Medium pot is 9 1/2" high x 7 1/2" diameter

Susan, what is a Down Under pot? How does it differ from other containers?
Looks very interesting.

I've never planted in one of them and have always wondered if the plants do as well as they claim. What do you think Susan?

Yes, they look very nice. I still wonder what holds the hook on, unseen. It looks like they come in all colors and glazes. Neat!

Thanks for stepping in with the info, I've been out of town visiting sunny Florida filled with beautiful palm trees and just got home this afternoon. I planted it with a purple Oxalis, watered it in well, and left town. My experience is it gets rooted in best if left turned upside down for two weeks before hanging. I checked it today and the plant didn't do so well while I was gone. I gave it a drink and hope it pulls through.

I have a purple oxalis but it is kept indoors and near a window in filtered light. Even with that limited light, I get flower blooms. It likes to be watered regularly.

One end has fiber & a hanger the other end is the hole you add damp soil & plant. Let it sit that way for a couple of weeks so plant gets rooted in. Hang, soil doesn't fall out. I got mine from http://www.kinsmangarden.com/c...
