Wowzer. They're getting better every day.

I saw Cosmic Aftershock at the Salter's last year and was impressed with how consistent it was in the greenhouse and out. I looked just like your pics Fred.

Love the eyezone of Harmonic Hues.

We had a very cold day - in the forties all day. I received this photo from a local daylily friend of this bloom from OPEN SEASON (Stamile-Pierce, '13) and got permission to post it here. The Floyd Cove website states that this daylily opens even on cold mornings. I am a believer! And guess what - my friend gave me a fan of it earlier this spring and mine should have a bloom tomorrow. I am hoping for something half as good.

I had three blooming today on new plants from FL.

So Irresistible (Nicole DeVito, '13) This one has a long way to go before it looks like her photo. I don't know if the colors will change when the weather gets warmer or not.

This one couldn't quite open completely in our cool weather, but I can see enough to know that I am really going to like it. Louder Than Thunder (Nicole DeVito, '13)

Many thanks for posting the photos Fred, Lyle, Dot, Ann, and Michele.
Lots of pretties shown here. This year I'm looking especially for the reds
and purples. Lots of goodies in those colors here too.

It's in the 40s again this morning. I went to look to see what may open today and the blooms from yesterday look like today's blooms so it stayed pretty cool all day and night. Oh well.

I will say it's not looking good for seeds this year. Out of my 300 or so plants in the hybridizing area I have 54 with scapes and most of those are a good 3 weeks away from blooming.

I have more scapes than that in the few new intros collections I bought, but of course they came from down south where they got a head start. The only problem with them is they are not opening very well at all. The late freezes we had pretty much damaged all the buds. Not to mention we are having bud drop on some.

Love them all. I still only have a few scapes showing their heads. I'm figuring that once I finally do get blooms that it'll be so darned hot that most crosses will not take. Of course, we may even have a cool June, who knows with this freaky weather. I guess with the great year we all had last year, we'll just have to accept the bad one this year. I'm quite sure I'll be singing the blues when the heat finally arrives.

Dot, Can't Touch THis is still a beauty this year. Are you getting any seed set on your blooms or is it still too early???

Michele, Pinched Perfection is gorgeous to me.

Ann, Open Season is awesome. MMMMMMMM Red is a wonderful color!!!

I agree I agree

Lyle, your Orange Grove always has such intense color. It has not done well for me at all. I ordered it when it originally was introduced and it rarely increases. Last year I had three fans and gave two to a friend. I don't know why I kept one. It has never matured a seed pod but I have set a few pods using its pollen. Maybe it needs warmer winters than we have. Thanks for posting your photos.

Feels like it has been so long since last year here with the drought the blooms were early and few! SO nice to see beautiful eye candy!!
