It's so wierd Betty, the flowers aren't completely open because the mornings are cold, so no pictures until later in the day. But the pollen opens about 10:00 in the morning if it's sunny, so I get the pollen before the pictures. I usually take pictures early before the sun gets above my crepe myrtle trees. I do not take pictures in the sun. So now I have to wait until later in the day when the shade hits them from the other side of the yard. But yes I have been busy pollinating what is blooming and have a few pods now, very few, not much is blooming yet.

Dot

Lillian's Deceitful Lies didn't care that the morning was cold, it was full open at 7:00.

Only thing worth taking a photo of today.

BOAR BRISTLES Hansen 2012

I saved the pollen from this to use on one of Mark Sattlemier's (sp?) seedlings that is at the garden. It is a huge bloom with tiny shark teeth. I was too busy washing plants yesterday and forgot to take a pic once it warmed up and things opened. I will take a photo tomorrow if it's open.

Lyle, I love your pictures. You do a great job of taking them without shadows, etc. NOT that the other pics are bad!

Solar Blue Angel is beautiful. Delicate.

Very nice blooms Dot. I looked today and I still don't have a scape on Sheika and I got it in the fall. And Dr Stump doesn't have a scape either. Well pretty much nothing has scapes around here!!! Thumbs down
I guess I got spoiled to the past 2 years having earlier than normal blooms, but this is ridiculous that 85% of my plants haven't scaped yet. I really think I have more scapes popping up on the 9 month seedlings than I do the mature plants

I did a big walk around all my pots yesterday and with some close-up looking I actually found scapes, a lot of scapes. Well, more than the 2 I had found earlier. The problem being, these scapes are about the size of a plastic coffee stir stick. SMALL! Most of them are about 6-8" tall, at best. Michele, I sure hope your plants start to improve. It's just scary to think that we aren't going to have seeds.

I've gotten hopelessly far behind here and will attempt to do some catching up over the next couple of days. I'm actually amazed at how many daylilies have bloomed for me so far, and suddenly I'm seeing scapes popping up where there were none even a few days ago. So hang in there everyone -- it will suddenly happen!

EYELASH VIPER - Totally love it!

BELLA NOTE

LILLIAN'S FRILLY FILLY - I love the pastel color combination in this one -- Great job, Fred!

MARINA DEL REY - I think this pattern is absolutely mesmerizing!

BEYOND PLUTO - Love it!

TEN GALLON HAT - This one is like a dinner plate - What a beauty!

HARVEST SKY - Love this bright orange daylily!

NEW PARADIGM - What a duet!

And I'll finish for now with a couple of early blooming little ones:

Michele,

I got my Sheika and Dr Stump this year, so they are blooming earlier than they would, had they already been here. I don't have that many scapes yet either. The only thing blooming for me that was already here, is American Flyer, it's always first, and Rio Fiesta. Oh yeah I almost forgot, the Solar Blue Angel that you sent me last year also bloomed one flower so far.

Wow Betty, those are all awesome!!

I am really loving seeing everyone's spring pictures! I think I remember seeing a couple of scapes coming up on my RUFFLED PINK PERFECTION, and I simply can't wait to see it bloom! And that SOLAR BLUE ANGEL is really something!

Gorgeous blooms guys and dolls, especially since the weather is not the best
this year. I'm surprised they are doing so well. I've given up looking for scapes.

This weekend the lows are predicted to be anywhere from 30 to 37 degrees depending
on which weather report one looks at. I can cover the new ones, but too many
in main beds to protect. Ah, well, different year, different aggravations. That will
teach me not to get overly excited for bloom season.

I can enjoy all the blooms posted here though. Thanks for that.

Blooming today before the rain. They are all water logged now.

I only had two buds on Whale Tails, so I had to make sure I got the pollen to put it on Dragonfly Dawn.

They were all really showing off today. The temps got warmer and they could open.
I am anxious to get up each day and see what is blooming now.
