As a comment about Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Chew Mailpouch Tobacco'), blue23rose wrote:

'Chew Mailpouch Tobacco' is a great bud-builder. In 2020, it bloomed from July 3 to October 6 until cold weather hit. This year, it started blooming on June 25 and as of October 15 still has a few buds.

Do you recall where you obtained this. I am looking for one. I intend to plant it in a tall raised bed, hopefully out of deer browsing range. Local nurseries here list day lilies as deer proof but not so in my yard. Colorado Rockies.

I received it from a fellow club member at a club sale, but the hybridizer, Curt Hanson, has it listed on his site for $40.

I've always heard that daylilies are like candy for deer! I am surprised the local nurseries would say that. Maybe they were talking about lilies that belong to the genus Lillium and not daylilies, which belongs to the genus Hemerocallis.
