seedling SDBs. the first has too short a stem so needs work
The last one looks good here but was discarded as it would not open correctly after being moved to a different bed.
too short a stem for the flower also. It does have pollen & since it is the color I want I have used it. No results so far. I have also used the pollen from #1. discarded #3 because of difficulty in the flower opening all the way (falls curl under). Always something in hybridizing results.
MTBs are starting to bloom & damp weather makes pollen unusable. A lot of 'Tid Bit' going to the iris sale. It is a blue historic MTB & 1/2 the clump will still leave plenty.
And a cutting from the heirloom lilac growing at our cottage in western PA. The "mother" lilac is probably over 100 years old. This thing has been growing for 6 years, and finally bloomed - I think it overheard me threaten to chop it down if it didn't bloom this year!
