The watermark on Heaven's Declaring has so many layers of color...very cool!

I ordered Purple Maze from Maryott's this year. I just love the colors. Maryott's has it on their BOGO sale now.

Taylor, I noticed on another forum you went to the Roundup. That means you are pretty close to David and Mort's. You should go visit, and take in Rice's while down there! I am sure they will have an open garden weekend or two. David and Morts is beautiful, and seeing the plants in person is very special!

An AHS Award update....

Mentioned in two of our recent threads, The thread "Summer 2013 favorites" in Daylilies forum and The thread "Daylilies with white edges" in Daylilies forum , Mort's 2005 introduction 'God Save the Queen' received a 2013 AHS Award of Merit.


Two years from now, 'God Save the Queen' will be placed on the garden judges Awards and Honors ballot where it will compete with the other eligible cultivars for the Stout Silver Medal.

Good for him.

Way to go Mort! It's very pretty and it must be a good performer to attain this award.

I know I love Mort's Paper Butterfly and Witch Stitchery, the only two of his I own. Both have won the AM, and after looking at the list of past awards, Mort has many awards to his credit. He can be very proud of his accomplishments.

Ann, love your pic of Just Like Candy. Does it bloom for a long time in your garden?
I got Just Like Candy last season. Got a few blooms from it. I also have Paper Butterfly. PB didn't bloom last season.

I unfortunately only have one Munson in my garden which was new to my garden last year. The pictures on this one don't due it justice. Blooming in the garden, the colors are unique and lovely as well as the flowers.

Curtis Montgomery

Curtis Montgomery (Morss 2007) is one of our favorites.

Alex, this was a fun one to write. What a pretty bloom! I don't think I've seen Curtis Montgomery before. Love the look of the bicolor with the patterned eye. One of my favorites of Mort's is Labyrinth. I borrowed an image from the database in an earlier post because mine weren't very good. Labyrinth blooming here last year, finally a decent image

Char…Your 'Labyrinth' is stunning. Well done. It does take a plant several summers after arriving in its new destination to find its true colors.

So I went back into my paperwork and checked on Mort Morss and found that I had ordered Mort's " Jeanne Rowles' ( a gorgeous new double) for early May delivery this year. I don't have many doubles in my garden but the colors on this one are spectacular, so I decided to take a chance and ordered this one from Michelle….intuitive decision.

And in my seedling bed, I have a spectacular cross of two of Mort's plants. This almost 3 yr. old seedling should bloom this summer. Fingers crossed.
