Oh Rita, that is a great picture! Robins are such pretty birds; I wish they resided here year round but I sure enjoy watching them in the yard grabbing worms during their migration back north!

I wish I could have gotten him actually bathing but he didn't want to stay in with me around. That silly saucer is so popular with the birds here. Low tech cheapo bird waterer. Hilarious!

Rita, the "Low Tech, Cheapo Bird Waterer" is the best kind ... birds don't care, any shallow water holding container is fine with them. Smiling

Baby Mockingbird was in the Holly shrub this morning and Mama (or maybe Daddy) was keeping watch nearby in the Cypress tree. The adults keep perching nearby and calling to the baby ... coaxing it to fly.

I love baby birds; their cute faces and their sometimes cute hairdo's! These photo's are from April 2011; the Carolina Wren babies left the nest and still couldn't fly ... they would climb up and through the chain link fence. This one was the last to learn to fly. In the first photo he/she got to the top of the fence and couldn't figure out where to go from there, it just sat there chirping for mama's help! Second photo shows baby having a bad hair day! Green Grin!

I'll finish out the May thread and hopefully someone will begin a new one for the month of June?

The baby Mockingbird was perched in a Hibiscus shrub this morning; it's since moved across the yard and is now in my next door neighbor's Ligustrum shrubbery. I'm assuming it must be fluttering for short distances. The parents are continually trying to coax it to other locations higher in the trees and one of the two adults is busy building another nest in a tree next to my deck!

I don't have any pictures so can't start the June thread. You will have to do it Lin.

LOL, I don't have another bird photo from today ... maybe someone will have one to start a new thread for this month. I'll be gone most of the day tomorrow but may get a photo or two in the morning before I leave; I just won't get a chance to upload them until tomorrow evening.

Lin, yes, I did bring some of the Texas Crescent caterpillars in. It's getting dangerous to be a butterfly egg or caterpillar outside here. Even the Gulf Fritilary ones! The last GF butterfly seems to be gone here, so I only hope the 2 GF caterpillars I have make it.
