Wow, that color is really vivid. I like it too. I don't think I have seen it at any of the garden centers I have visited.

Beautiful color Bob. Did you get that locally or did you have to order online?

At a local garden center. I resisted twice while in 2 gallon pots and then they came in 1 gallon so I went for it. The colors were even brighter a couple of weeks ago , but as you can see some of the tanner summer color is starting to come in.

Here are a couple new ( tiny) plants that arrived. These weren't available locally. Hopefully they will grow and thrive.
Electric Lime - hope to see more veining as it grows:

I love the color of Georgia Plum:

This falls under the heading of "I got snookered." I bought this at an out of town nursery that I sometimes pass in traveling - its a couple hours from here. This was bought as 'Prince of Orange' but obviously is NOT that. I think they sold the common Palace Purple and labeled it as Prince of Orange. Grrr!!

I bought 'Electric Lime' for my mom a few years ago. It has never looked like the photos. The veins are rarely visible at all. I think 'Delta Dawn' is a vast improvement.

I think you are right about Purple Palace. Electric Lime shows it's color in the cold weather.

My Electric lime was just beautiful all winter. Great picks. Your right not 'prince of orange' I got that one in a trade after mine disappeared. Lots of better heuchera then the Prince of orange on the market today. If you ever run across 'Blonde' buy it. A dark one and has yellowish flowers. Lovey dubby

Prince of Orange is not something I would replace. I had a nice big one and it did eventually disappear.

My Electric Lime had some gorgeous color early this spring, I cannot find any pictures on it though.

Wow Bob I missed your post. That is pretty. That is sunglasses worthy. I have not seen it sold locally yet. I refuse to order any because they are too small and I know they will not survive.

I love Georgia Plum! Keep me informed about Electric Lime. I'm all ears!

Saw one of these today at a local nursery. Amazing color, dark burnt orange, and huge leaves. Is this one of those which aren't fond of the northeast?

I do not have any experience with that one. It is a terra nova and they are not giving parent on their site, Generally I do not have good success with TN in my cold area.

Maybe someone has experience here with that one.

I think these are being made for us poor southerners to grow because the others won't grow here.

You know, I have read that many heucheras are native to parts of the US such as CA, AZ and NM. Does anyone know if that is true? I believe that the common Palace Garden one originated in Europe - England, maybe. Makes me wonder about which climates they do best in! Some of the Terra Novas don't do exceedingly well here either. Just saying....

The problem is the heat and/or humidity. There are new cultivars with Villosa, they are the best ones for heat tolerance.

I don't have anything with leaves near the size of FA. They're also "rounded" like H. americana as opposed to "pointed' like H. villosa. Do varieties with americana have bigger leaves?

Evan the larger are mostly Villosa hybrids.

Fire Alarm is a villosa and micrantha

Cinta on the Terra Nova site when looking up plants scroll down to Species for parentage.

Right now this is #1 on my want list. Sold out on most sites I have checked.
