Driving back from Ron's appt... tractor-trailer jack-knifed, front end off the road. We saw a few accidents, but avoided the worst of it. Happy to say, he got a clean bill of health from another of his doctors.

Glad you and Ron are OK, Dianne. That is scary. My son is a truck driver; it's nerve-wracking. Fortunately his present driving job allows him to stay in our area now.

I meant to compliment you on the clever gifts you made for your friends and family. How do you come up with your ideas? Do you frequent craft sites?

Thank you, Nan ... no, don't have time for crafting any more. I've done 'fine' needlepoint since I can remember (literally - I had my own sewing kit by the time I was 4, my first sewing machine before I was 8). Haven't quilted in a few years and had to stop on my delicate embroidery a few years ago ... fact is, I am going to need eye surgery before much longer, I keep putting it off.

And the kittens like yarn too well for me to pick up my crochet...

Weather here is cold (for the South) and rainy. Dreary.

It's 3 degrees right now. This is the 10 day. DD and grandkids are on their way here from Kentucky today. Boy are they in for a shocker.

The ice didn't amount to anything, it's already gone. Today's supposed to be rainy with a high of 47. I'm glad for the rain but I wish I didn't have to work in it.

We are going to freeze.

It sounds like the cold weather is really going to be hard for all of you to the south... I saw a forecast for 8 degrees in Tennessee! That's way colder than some folks are prepared for, not sure some folks even have heat for temps that chilly. Stay warm!

22 when we got up this morning; bright sunshine, mostly clear skies. Predicted high today 41, low tonight 28. I have built a pine-straw bale "corral" around the potted plants, nowhere inside to put them. Hoping that keeps them safe when the temps drop. Wish I had a thermal "pool" blanket and may try to rig up a tarp cover. Would love to be outside planting, however today is a "must" baking day.

66 here yesterday. Actually seeing sun right now but can see that milky white sky south of me, probably heading my way.

35F low before the wind turned so 42F at sunrise. Might hit 44F ahead of the Blue Norther due in a couple of hours. 📉 7F current forecast early tomorrow. Potted DL's into the greenhouse or the unheated barn for a day or two this morning as we won't get back above freezing 'til Christmas 🛐 Day.

High today 27 F or -3 C, cloudy. Winter storm warning in effect with heavy snow and high winds forecast for overnight. Warmer tomorrow, with a risk of rain or freezing rain complicating everything, otherwise continuing snow and wind. It doesn't sound nice at all.

So glad the site is back up.
We were 67 and sunny yesterday after a morning low of 34.

Thunderstorms with lightning this morning, most unusual for December here. The old folks say that thunderstorms in winter herald coming snow. There is a chance for light flurries in the forecast.
I need to bring a couple more plants in. They can take our usual winter weather but I'm not confident about their ability to handle the lows that are expected this weekend.
