Great pic. Bev beat me to the punch. Is that great minds? jm what zone are you? I've been looking for a Eucomis hardy in z6a and yours is the the nicest I've seen. Killer foliage.

Evan, I've overwintered E.autumnalis in the ground before. I had neglected to dig my tender bulbs that fall, and was shocked the next spring to see them return. If I recall correctly, I left them in the ground the next fall and lost them that time, but hadn't mulched or provided any protection for them.

You know, last night I realized that Eucomis were bulbous plants. My grey matter just didn't make the leap to simply treat them as tender bulbs. I've certainly got enough of those and a few more would'na matter atall. I'll certainly check out E. autumnalis.

Thanks for getting back to us, Jack. Oakhurst goes on the wish list for sure. Do you have that potted? The white ones are terrific! Ok, you know we want to get the name of that one, too.
Thankfully mine overwinter in the ground here-otherwise I wouldn't grow them. My schedule during the fall is too crazy to be planning to dig things up. It'll never happen.

So nice seeing your always inspiring pictures when I can't sleep, Jack. My p. daffs are getting finished with their display. I have had one for a few years and added another in the spring. Seeing your beauties with the crazy cool curved petals makes me long for more.

Hi Marie, The nurseries should be open. They might be a little low on stock but it's the best time to get great deals. Where abouts are you headed?

All these Peruvian and Gloriosa are amazing and both Eucomis have been added to the wishlist. I'm not sure what it is but I love those pineapple shaped blooms.

Hello everyone. I grow bulbs in containers also.

jmorth, my blood lilies are planted in group of 5 just like yours. I thought they are going to bloom at the same time but they didn't.
