Between the dogs and the 4 year old grandson, the tags just disappeared! I am using EON markers now so should have less problems, so far the kid is leaving them alone for fear of me breaking his fingers.

Make a map.......even if it is crude it is better than loosing the ID. Mine are in a note book that I won't misplace....I hope.

Yes, I have learned from my errors. I will be making a map this year just to be certain that I know what is where.

I have a couple irises which I have no tags for. entirely my own fault.

Does the name 'This and That' ring any bells for you? Your third iris resembles it pretty closely.

The only person who has not had issues with lost tags, forgotten names, etc., is the person who only grows ONE iris! I have never heard of ANYONE with that much will-power !!....Arlyn

Kent, you were right! I finally found the list of stuff I should have and This and That is on it! Yippee, another NOID ID'd!
Thank you for your input, I would have never thought to look for my old list had you not put that in my head. Now I am busy matching, matching, matching. I am sure there are some that I will never ID but I have found a few!

Hard to do, and very chancy unless you buy one of the same to plant next to it. And who wants to do that? But if you have a list to go by, yay

Since I know exactly what is supposed to be here, it makes it easy. There are several that I will never ID (not on any list) but there are several more that I have ID'd today and am so excited!

As well you should be. I hope you didn't take that as criticism. It was a compliment for IDing from a list, not just a picture that can be so variable. .

Polly, you will have to work a lot harder than that to offend me! We all know that I don't know much, just enough to be really, really dangerous! However, finding my list makes this job pretty easy. There is another list stuck in my old computer, I never printed that one out. Now I have to call the computer guy and get everything transferred over so I can continue my mission!

Always keep old lists. I ID-d a dwarf that way 7 did not get a chance to mark it. I will pick up the pieces & move them closer together though.

I am learning the hard way! Keep the lists, make a map, mark six different ways and pray for the best.
