Does anyone have or has anyone tried or known anyone who used the Hound Dog Weeding Tool that Wal Mart & home Depot sell? If so I would be interested in knowing what you think of it.

Are you talking about this tool? There are a bunch of reviews over on Amazon:

Thanks woofie. I'm not sure it's the same model # but I can check. Interesting reviews.

I am not familiar with this tool. But I can tell you, GET A COBRAHEAD. I swear you will not be sorry. Best tool ever as far as I am concerned. I use it for almost everything. Even my husband borrowed it when he was digging out a large stump. Now I have to get him his own! Hilarious!

Thanks Jennifer but doesn't it just cut off the weed instead of removing the root?

Depending on how you angle it you can get deep with it. I guess if I had a million dandelions maybe it wouldn't be my first choice.

The dandelions don't bother me ~~~ strange person here that I actually love them. But there is virginia creeper. & numerous other "weeds" that I would like to pull up by the roots.

Dandelions in my lawn don't bother me; I think they look kind of pretty. I just don't like them taking over my planters and flower beds!

That cobrahead looks very much like a tool someone else, somewhere else, was looking for; said it was the best weeding tool ever.

I have the Hound Dog weeder and it works when the soil is wet here in MN. I have used it to pull dandelions out of the lawn and garden when the soil is wet you can pop them right out just be sure to center it on the weed then pull it out. I like using it after a good soaking rain that is when it works best for me when the ground is very dry it does not work fo me.
If you want to be happy for a lifetime plant a garden!
