How come we cannot add multiple photos at once? They have to be added one at a time. Didn't we used to have the capability of doing more than one photo at once?

Yes, this was previously an option. Now (as far as I know) you have to add them one at a time. There was a recent change to the uploading mechanism and that's when this changed.

That has been cumbersome. Some pics are in the middle of a loooooooong scroll through a folder.

I usually take advantage of the drag n' drop area on the forum posts. Then it doesn't matter if it's down a long list, the list stays open and just keep adding them to that box area. But then I go to upload banner photos and usually try to do the same there. Which of course doesn't work for banner uploads, you must use the browse and add way to do it.

Nancy, do you mean from Windows explorer into the reply box in the browser? That is not working for me.

Didn't figure there was a fix.

If you start up your post, finish and go into edit mode, it takes several pics at a clip. But, unless you are reporting a trip or pics of a show, it isn't really that much faster.

That did not work for me. The browse will not let me select more than 1 pic there either.

You drag from your Windows Explorer window into the box just under where you type, like shown (I'm using Firefox, but all browsers should have the same "Drag and drop a photo here..." box):

Edit just to add that you must drag into the outlined box. You can't drag the image into the area where you're typing your response.

If I want to upload multiple photos, I start with typing my intro chat first then hit Finished.

Then Edit my chat (see screen shot below)



and check all the photos I want to upload Just like we used to do:



And viola! Don't forget to preview because you might accidentally upload something you don't want to upload.

Nancy, thank you for the explanation! When I try that with 2 pics selected, only 1 uploads. BUT the drag does work for 1 at a time. That's faster & a good way to not lose position.

Thank you for the tutorial, Gigi! That looks like a phone vs. computer thing. I tried typing a chat to myself but neither dragging or trying to select more than 1 file in the edit preview worked.

Gigi, are you on a Mac by chance? In Windows 10, you can only select 1 image at a time to upload, you can't select multiple images anymore (at least I can't with my setup). And if you try to use the drag and drop box to upload more than 1 image, only 1 of them will get uploaded.

No just phone. I can only do it when I hit as if I am editing my message.

I've read about that edit technique here before. I use cloud based Google photos and have been meaning to test it, so I will now.

Question: during the time you're editing a post, does it show in the thread?

I detest typing and even reading forums, especially with images, on a tiny phone screen. Unless it's a dire emergency I'll always use my desktop PC, once in a great while a 10" tablet, which is still much better than a phone to me. Typing is just so much slower from a phone or tablet, and the autocorrect "feature" on phones gets out of control at times!

I wouldn't try to look @ this site on a phone.

I use this site more on my phone than laptop, but I agree, laptop typing is way easier. Agree about the "auto corrupt" nuisance on the phone.

This keeps my posts shorter, though!

Yes, always. It'll show when edited in the lower right corner of your post, right under the Thumbs and Acorns.

Nancy, sorry, not fully understanding your answer. I know it indicates edit time at the bottom, but WHILE you're editing, does the original post remain visible? I suppose I could test that by opening post on pH and laptop at the same time and watching one while I edit the other...

Nothing changes until you hit "finished" on the edit.
