I have some crocus growing in the lawn, they keep coming up each year. I never planted them there, they just moved in somehow. Most of my yard is muched beds, I use lots of leaves from the fall that I find bagged around the neighborhood or if I run out then straw. So I have plenty of places to plant more daffs and crocus, I was just curious about the lawn idea.

Beautiful Dafs! I wish I lived where I could naturalize them. Brings back memories of growing up in Ohio while driving down a road to be surprised by a slug of blooming daffodils in front of a wooded area.

Did you ever see the daffs that was right before you get into Mt. Sterling, They was a huge field of them.
I used to take my MOM for a drive up there just to see them. I think I might have a picture somewhere, if I can find it I will post it. It was gorgeous...
Heres mine this year.. Don't look at the junk I haven't cleaned up this spring.

Yes Pauletta, I LOVE that cheery mass of yellow! Seems I've seen that area get plowed, and they come right back.

I've had these split cups for years, they've been a reliable perennial and increase well. I wish I could recall the name.

They turn white as they age, but the cool temps makes it a slow process. The blooms last and last.

These were forced one winter before being planted outside.

OK, finally got some photos to share! These came in a bag of mixed bulbs, so they're no-names. Not much bigger than the crocus, but they last forever! Even DH likes them.

Here's one of the new ones I got from Brent & Becky's when they had their sale this spring. I think it's called Avalanche. For some reason I planted it way in the back, and to get even the flowers are facing away from the house. They'll have to be moved...

The flower looks kind of bizarre, eh?

Nice, jmorth! Looks like 'Jetfire', is that right?

Susan, I think your little yellow one is 'Tete a tete', such a sweet little thing! 'Avalanche' will most likely be taller next year, sometimes the sale bulbs I get and plant late are a little stunted the first spring, but they reach full height every year after.

Nice pictures. I guess its great to know what they are as they are blooming. My daffs are all unknowns to me as I aways buy the mixed bags. At least I do so far. This fall I am getting daffs from Brent and Beckies, already ordered, and I will put markers.

I had to look at my daffoldils thru the window today as its just raining too much to spend time outside. I did see that the poor things are way down on the ground from all the heavy rains.
