I dislike Tick's. One of the reason we are deer netting the entire backyard. Always carry a tick spoon around with me. Glad you got the tick off. Maybe a little Witch Hazel will help with the itch. Visualizing a medicine cabinet filled with W. Hazel at Grandma's house. The cure all for everything.
Just completely splashed myself in Vinegar, ahhhhh the relief from itching. Hope I don't smell like pickles and something sweet when I venture back out.
go find the plantain weed in your lawn.. burn it with a lighter or match.. just enough to wilt it.. squish it to get the oils out and rub on your bites.. they will go away (learned that at well-sweep and it works)
This weather has me going crazy. On the days I have time to plant it's raining. Now I finally get a day of nice weather to plant only to have the weathermen predict heavy severe storms with winds and hail for tomorrow and Friday. Busy tying up tomatoes an securing what is planted. Transplanting will have to wait once again.
yeah we did the same thing yesterday Karen.. I put a couple more in the ground.. but not enough.. horrible year .. I am getting ready to just call it done

Same here Thankfully I finished my morning glories last night. Monsoons again today and now my girlies are here full time with Dominic two times a week. My yard is water logged, the areas in the shaded areas are nothing but mold and so much mud. Hoping it dries out for father's day.

So Allison since your coming to my house tomorrow for Cherry Buckle and to get your slimmer juices flowing does that mean (my yard) your "going to spray the yard with that natural mosquito stuff" Lol
Just bought a gallon of vinegar so we can use that to fend off any pesky mosquitoes that come near us. Seems to work like a charm for me.
Looks like the rain will hold off for the weekend, Party on Saturday, Breakfast with Dad Sunday morning and then nose to the ground to get the last of the plants in the ground before more rain hits Monday an Tuesday. .

I gave up ! rain rain rain and more rain with extreme heat in between the rainy day's . i can't get out in high heat much since the heart attack so i just quit . my only option now is to turn on the flood lights battle the bugs and garden at night on the few days it doesn't rain . i bet i could grow a nice rain forest lol . maybe get a few monkeys and train them to garden .
Combating weeds with putting down a layer of newspaper and heavily mulching with dried grass clippings. So far so good in the newly planted areas and the veggie garden as well as the planters. Still have to get my cucumbers mulched & trellis built now that the temporary fencing and netting to keep the birds from eating the seedlings has allowed them to grow to second sets of leaves. Not seeing any major rain in the next few days.

Wow the garden smells like fresh brewed coffee this morning after the rain. Guess all those coffee grinds I dumped out there helped with the slugs. Only found one lonely slug this morning but got rewarded with a ton of mosquito bites. Running inside to itch away and enjoy the lovely mint aroma from this mornings Mint Jelly making.
