My granddaughter Jenna, raided my garden for some tulips and daffs for her mother for mothers day.
Actually the flowers came from her little garden. I have two commercial garden areas and I put a strip in each one for Jenna to plant and pick, while I'm out there working.

So THAT'S your helper. She's obviously got a healthy dose of Gramma's good taste and green thumb. She's got one nice bouquet there.
Jenna looks to be about the same age as my niece, 8. Would you mind finding out her views on gnomes who inhabit gardens? I'm planning on a gnome home but can't remember if 8 is too old.
Yes, that's my helper, Evan. Thank you. And yes, she's 8. I can tell you she loves gnomes. And fairies. We have some in the garden, and she doesn't, ahem, play with them, but she is constantly 'rearranging' them. I often find the fairies sticking their feet in the little ponds. Nothing more fun than gardening with kids.
Polly, how sweet! She will cherish those memories of your gardening activities together forever, there is no greater gift you could give her.
Dnut, that is a wonderful combo! I haven't planted the first Siberian Squill or Chionodoxa here, something I gotta fix! They have naturalized in the lawn at the house where I grew up from my planting a little pack of 10 bulbs as a tween. I didn't realize the pink ones would revert. I guess those are seedlings that have reverted.

Don't you love the blue centers of Little Beauty! I have some of them planted alongside Virginia Bluebells, which start out pink and turn blue as the blooms open. They echo each others colors beautifully.
