Hello all,

I had a group of two volunteer baby aspens coming up nicely on the side of the house (right next to the house). Of course I could not leave them there so today we dug them up in hopes we could get a root ball of sorts. No such luck. It ended up being quite a mess when all was said and done and though we got a decent amount of roots on each sapling, many more roots were left behind. I dug a nice hole for them (this was all done just after dawn by the way) and back filled with a nice compost mixed with peat, etc. I then soaked the area for a long time and now they are starting to wilt with the heat of the day. They look to be in a pretty sad state and I was hoping I could get some input from folks here on whether they will make it or not. Any advice, sharing of personal experience, etc. will definitely be appreciated.

Thank you all,
Benny
