Thanks for sharing the show -- I loved seeing it! You're right that that seedling should be introduced -- it's beautiful. Lovey dubby

I so enjoy the shows each year....I worked hard and was successful. and the season was right for my garden bloom....the Best specimen and runner-up were mine. Also won the Sweepstakes.. My friends in the UIS are putting a big target on me for next year. Two years ago a friend won best specimen at her first show and has been disappointed since. Maybe the only way is down now Shrug! Congratulations! Hurray! How do you keep them looking so fresh? Do you pick them the morning of the show?

I pick freshly opened stalks and ones just opening the evening before the show. The ones that are open go into an unheated bath room and the ones that need to open stay in the kitchen in warm water. Then before I leave for the show, 6 A.M. yesterday, I give the garden one more look. Then when you get home after the show you always find something fabulous that you missed. I've groomed the stalks that I brought home and am just taking them to the cemetery. Thanks for the congrats.

Thanks everyone. Lucy-we are lucky to have a good group of willing people. Our show closed at 5 and by 5:35 we have the iris off the tables, the vases put away, the tables down and the floor swept......
