Yellow Titan has had a poly every day this last week in the heat wave. Here it is peeking around the shed today.

Sorry, but I have to ask... what is FFE? I see FFO in the AHS dictionary and know what that is, but FFE puzzles me. Thanks!

Thank you Natalie. I have been pleased with the seedlings so far, considering when I hybridized them I was new to daylilies, didn't have many plants to work with and it was mostly for fun. Hilarious!

I think even if your not a serious hybridizer it's a great way to get new, interesting plants for your garden. Green Grin!

I couldn't agree more Margaret! Most of my first attempts were with pretty old and basic daylilies, and I was thrilled to be having all that fun! I just wanted to see what happened. I have better plants now, so it should be even more exciting next year when I get back into it! I love polys so much and would be thrilled if I got seedlings that were polys most of the time! Doubles would also be great, but I'll be happy with anything that isn't too ugly!

I use FFE for first flower ever.

And I enjoy seedlings - and playing with hybridizing. My problem is having the patience they require Whistling

Jan, I think when you live in climates such as mine, you need patience even when you purchase fans, I have a few that I bought as fans and have yet to see a bloom, some are 3 years old, so actually the seedling bloomed before them, cause there is no sign of a scape so far!! Glare

Thanks for the explanation on the FFE. That makes perfect sense and I think that makes Margaret's seedling even more special because it is so well formed and what a beauty!
