I always leave my Jade plant outside in the Fall until temperatures drop into the upper thirties at night/expose the plant to temps in the forties F for a few weeks. By that time most of the new tips have set buds. So now inside the plant starts to bloom and looks nice.
I should mention the plant had a major prune job last year.

Outstanding. I am still waiting for my first buds/blooms. How much sun does your plant get. Mine is pretty much in shade all the time

Ted, it gets in Summer several hours of straight sun, during the Winter it sits in a bright corner in the house. I would think the few weeks of cool weather in the Fall initiates budding.

Ursula, I have had my jade plant for 15 years. Purchased it at a junk store for 99 it is in a huge floor planter and this year it bloomed. I did not leave it out any longer than usual I just thought it finally got big enough to bloom. I wish the flowers were fragrant.

I wish I could get my Snake plant to bloom they say those are fragrant. It is so big it is almost busting the pot it should bloom if pot bound makes them bloom something I was told.

Cinta, when did you bring it in? I am curious. Perhaps it didn't need the cool temps?
