Fabulous! Is that Blush Flower Circus or Pompon Flower Circus (or both)?

Thank you! It's Blush Flower Circus. The Pompon next to it is much slower to open (still in bud stage below). Some of its buds never really open up, hence the name. When they do open, they are the most deeply cupped blooms of any rose I have.

Here's a corner of the garden, photographed yesterday. I put a small wrought iron table and two chairs there earlier this spring. It's a simple and peaceful place to sit and enjoy a different perspective of the garden - by being sort of embedded in it, rather than observing it from the path.

The roses and clematis growing over the gated arbor look sort of hump-backed this year! That's Berries & Cream growing on top, and Jacob's Robe growing on the lower left.

Cherry Parfait is one of my favorite roses. If I could only grow 10 different varieties, I would include this one, because of its frequency of bloom, and its adaptability to different light conditions.

Or Jackmanii?

I agree that Cherry Parfait is the ideal rose. I have two, one in the sun and one in the shade, and they're equally happy.

I love your new spot for relaxation and contemplation, Mike.

How thorny is Cherry Parfait? I really like the blooms, but my balance is precarious and my skin is NOT impervious to puncture. Hilarious!

Cherry Parfait has moderate thorns - about average, I'd say.

Here's the front entryway to our home, photo'd this afternoon. That's the Blush Flower Circus rose bush growing to the right of the porch. The Digitalis and Alliums will give way to the Hemerocallis, which haven't started blooming yet. But they have already gotten huge this year, and will need to be divided this fall. The Lupines have finished their spring bloom, and some Rainbow's End miniature roses are nestled in there, struggling to get their share of daylight. I'll probably need to move those before long. Some miniature Monarda are also buried in there somewhere, but didn't come back very strong after this winter. We're also thinking of removing the two big Alberta Spruces that completely obscure the living room windows. When we first moved into this house nearly 15 years ago, they were much shorter. What do you all think?

Beautiful urns! The spruces are lovely, but I'm against anything that obscures windows.

I was pruning the Rugosa roses late this evening and grabbed hold of a bumblebee that had nestled itself into one of the blooms. My left index finger is now as big as a potato.

They rarely sting, but I guess he must have felt threatened. Put ice on the location of the sting and take an antihistamine tablet if you have one.

The females are the only ones that sting, and their stingers are retractable. But in this case, since I grabbed the bee, the stinger broke off, so I removed it with tweezers. I've taken some Benadryl, and placed the finger in a glass of ice.
