My aunt has this flower and we are stumped as to what it is. The folliage is fernish, or even a bit yarrowish. The bloom is similar to filipendula. It is about 18 inches tall.

Anyone know what it is?

I wonder if it could be "Yarrow"? Achillea millefolium? Scroll down this page for images of flowers and leaves:

Lin,
I thought of that. It is close, but not quite the same. Unfortunately I am not there to take better pics. I was actually lucky to get the pics I did. Hilarious!
Thank you

Hopefully someone will come along and recognize it or at least be able to give some suggestions as to what your aunt's lovely flowers may be!

Oh Janet, I'm so glad you saw this thread ... you are so good at identifying plants for us!

For more comparison, check out photo's and info for Filipendula vulgaris in the ATP database: Meadowsweet (Filipendula vulgaris)

If that's correct Lin! I have a feeling it is, it took me a while to recognise it but I came back and put my thinking cap on. Hilarious! I have Filipendula ulmaria growing wild and that's what brought me to Filipendula, the flowers look similar.

It was the foliage which fooled me too Jennifer, and by the time I came back to this thread I had forgotten you mentioned Filipendula. Hilarious!
