'Flashy Trout's Back' and 'Forellenschluss' both exist in the Plant database as if separate cultivars, but I think they are the same variety. According to one source, it has also been called ‘Spotted Trout’ and ‘Freckles’.

I was able to add the alternate name 'Forellenschluss' to 'Flashy Trout's Back'. Or maybe that was 'also sold as".

I tried to add 'Forellenschluss' as a second cultivar name, and as an "also sold as" to 'Flashy Trout's Back' lettuce. That was rejected because 'Forellenschluss' already exists.

Maybe these "two" cultivars could be merged into one entry with two cultivar names and some
also sold as" names?

I agree that's the "best" name for it.

Can the other names be kept somewhere ... somewhere that a search would find them?

It's Humpty-Dumpty's paradox: should we list things by their "right" names, or by everything that people CALL them?

Enough time should have passed for the system to have re-sampled that entry Rick. A search for any of the names listed should work now.

Great, I am finding the same entry ( 'Forellenschluss') with many names, but I see there is still a 'Freckles' entry, that would ideally be merged into this entry.

P.S. Chelle has 'Freckles' and there are two photos there.
