Waited years to do this job. I hired a landscape guy and discussed my ideas and signed the check.
They did more of the garden edging today and will returne next week to repair and reset the bluestone path in the Woodswalk garden.

Wow Jo Ann, That is going to be great. I've thought about hiring a landscaper, but I'd just be out there getting in their way, so I pretty much decided to just do what I can and try to explain to my kid help what needs doing that I can't.

I needed someone who could take away the sod clumps.
I did some edging and dumped the sod under a diseased Spruce. That aught to finish it off.

the spruce. Landscaper said too much mulch or anything under the trees will kill them'
They have roots close to the surface for feeding and when they cant get nourishment they die.

Good to know, although we have pines & juniper. Not planted by us as this was 'conservation land' for 30 yrs & everything colonized it on its own.

Your garden is just a bit ahead of mine. The iris haven't started here and the foam flower are just budded. Don't you just love the Tulip Orphanidea Flava? Mine have doubled and doubled again. They look like little torches in the garden.

Doess interplanting daffs with tulips keep rabbits & deer away? Would like more tulips but get eaten. We have a stray here & there. Tree service came to spray for winter moth today. first warm day when they could do it. I squashed 4 of them coming down their long strands.

I had not thought of interplanting tulips and daffs.
My thinking is ( a theory mind you ) it might work. I doubt deer would deliberatly shuffle thru daffs to get to tulips especially at this time of year when other "brouse" is available.
They seem to be opertunists and eat what they find rather than conciously go for a certain plant.
They have trail habits, and when they find something yummy growing in the trail area ,they eat.

Rabbits on the other hand will eat tulips no matter where you hide them.
