Jardin, I agree with Polly, if there is any green left at all, it's helping manufacture food to replenish the corms.

Cinda, your Crocosmia are blooming their hearts out- gorgeous!

Charleen, that's a lovely one! Oh, and I keep meaning to tell you, I've got a bloom stalk emerging in the pot of Tuberoses! I'm so excited!

Charleen, how about the bulbs forum? You could start a Tuberose thread, or there are some threads for summer bulbs, tender bulbs, bulbs for the south, and bulbs in containers threads where interested folks will see it Smiling I'm so glad I have them in a pot, so I can move it when blooms are open for maximum appreciation of the scent!

Sounds like some of the Crocosmia are late bloomers, that's when I'm needing color.

Neal, thank you. I thought as much, but I get in a mood when things look sloppy. I cut it back by about 1/3.

Charleen, I found some that color at Lowe's labeled George Davidson.
Very nice color.

If anyone wants yellow crocosmia's , just ask. I've got hundreds of them and am more than willing to share !
I don't know which cultivar they are since I got them from an abandoned property years ago.
This particular variety is pretty tenacious and multiplies like crazy. I don't know how they'd perform in colder zones, but here, mine literally sit in standing water for months at a time in winter and they still bloom. They're in full bloom right now and get about 36-40" tall.

Those are beautiful , I do not think they would survive my zone 5 , the red are the only ones I ever see around here.

Thanks for the offer, Mike. I'm really afraid they wouldn't do well here, too.

Those look fantastic Mike. What a display. Red Lucifer is wrapping up here and Emberglow is in full swing. If you haven't tried, Lucifer leaves when dried, retain there color and shape.

It is hard to tell from the photo what is the difference in the color? IT also looks red?

This is only my 2nd full year growing them but in my opinion Lucifer is more robust in appearance. The leaves are 1.5-2 times as wide, it's supposed to get taller (to 4' vs. 3' for Emberglow) and the flowers are a bit larger. They're also a darker red with the Emberglow being more vermillion. Here's a close up of a Lucifer bloom.

I think I have Emberglow in my livingroom garden. I noticed it was brighter and the blooms dont march off the stem with long legs like lucifer. I am looking closer when the sun comes up.
Thanks for the picture and explanation.

I had to go to old pix for lucifer because my current one is dried up.

Lucifer has longer tubules and almost solid red flowers.

What I believe is Emberglow here has 2 toned flowers and they are smaller on shorter tubes .
