Hello! My name is Randi Jo, I am sort of new here. I was invited by a friend but it was the middle of a college semester so I needed to go easy on posting and work on studying! I have a love for plants and gardening (That is actually what I am in college for). I am located in the Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan and Irises are one of my favorites. I am trying to get a nice assortment growing here and I am especially after some orange and some pink/peach ones for my children who love to help. Here is what is blooming now for me! (Had some helpful iris lovers help to ID 2 of these for me!!)

I've done trades for all my irises and they are all NOID's but from everything I have looked at, I am that these are all old ones!

Your flowers are what are known as 'historics'. If you are very interested in that type, think about joining HIPS (Histoirc iris preservation society). If that is too much money while you are in college, go to their website (you can get it though AIS irises.org) & click on their links.

Your historics are lovely. I particularly like the powder blue one (fifth one down). Is that the one that smells like grape koolade? (how do you spell that word, anyway????)

Yes, that is the one that smells like grape koolaide! I didn't realize all mine were historic's! 2 of these, the one that smells like black licorice and the first one are both, what I would call, dwarfs. They are around 6 to 8 inches tall....
