Was just given Mystic Mariner. The database calls it 3.5", which is a bit larger than a Miniature, but that classification was for diploid and this one is a Tet conversion. Don't know if that makes a difference overall, but the bloom on this specific plant was under 3 inches. Really liked it.

Ahhh! Well, Black Plush can't be a very big small then. I saw him blooming at the Farm but the plant I got has no blooms/scapes and the AHS doesn't list a size. Sad So will have to wait to be able to measure him. But, regardless, he's pretty!

Love your Mystic Mariner! The eye that carries over to the sepals so perfectly in line with the petals! GREAT!

Okay, that is really interesting! I saw it at the Farm and it was definitely small! Like, maybe 4 inches...I wonder if they had it mislabeled? Do you happen to have a pic of your Black Plush?? I could compare that to what I saw at the farm?

Thanks!

I bought my mini's last year from Floyd Cove. Little Surfer Girl is struggling a bit, I hope I get scapes this year. I think last years drought and this years heavy snows and cold wet spring have caused it not to do well, but it seems to be doing better recently. I am very anxious to see this one in real life ~Jan

I would be anxious/excited too. Please post pics of little surfer girl when it blooms.

Purple D'oro is a nice color. Does it perform even close to Stella D'oro?

I have seen others say that it does not perform for them. In my garden it blooms about a week after Stella starts to bloom and repeats later than Stella and seems to be a longer fall bloomer in my garden.

The absolute three tiniest miniatures that grow here are:Nano Probe, Little Damsel, and Mayor of Munchkinland. All have been blooming here this week. They are all registered as Early Midseason, and they rebloom sporadically - meaning, they rebloom most years, depending on the weather. MOM usually has instant rebloom and Nano Probe usually waits and blooms later. Little Damsel is not as reliable a rebloomer here.

Nano Probe (Stamile-G., 2002)
height 18in (46cm), bloom 2.5in (6.4cm), season EM, Rebloom, Semi-Evergreen, Diploid, 40 buds, 5 branches, Double 100%, Smoky rose mauve blend above green throat. (((Little Wild Flower × Roswitha) × (sdlg × You Angel You)) × Cute as Can Be)

Little Damsel (Stamile-G., 2005)
height 15in (38cm), bloom 2.5in (6.4cm), season EM, Rebloom, Semi-Evergreen, Diploid, 22 buds, 4 branches, Double 100%, Coral with red pencil eye above green throat. (Little Wild Flower × sdlg)

Mayor of Munchkinland (Herrington-T., 2010)
height 24in (61cm), bloom 2.9in (7.4cm), season EM, Rebloom, Dormant, Diploid, Fragrant, 50 buds, 7 branches, Canary yellow self red eye above a green throat. (Irish Eyes × Everybody Loves Earnest)
Nano Probe and Little Damsel both blooming this week:

Mayor of Munchkinland also blooming now:

Little Music Maker, at 3.25" is classified as a small flower but it is still a front of the border plant.
Little Music Maker (Stamile-G., 2003)
height 20in (51cm), bloom 3.25in (8.3cm), season E, Rebloom, Semi-Evergreen, Diploid, 35 buds, 6 branches, Double 100%, Pale yellow with burgundy eye above green throat. (Little Wild Flower × Roswitha)
Elfin Magic (Stamile-G., 2008)
height 18in (46cm), bloom 3in (7.6cm), season M, Rebloom, Semi-Evergreen, Diploid, 24 buds, 4 branches, Purple with gray blue green eye above green throat. (((sdlg × Yankee Doodle Blues) × Little Secrets) × sdlg)

Elfin Magic is also classified as a small at 3", but it is hard to tell!
One comment I'd add is that although some are registered as 100% double (and I SAW Grace's mini doubles blooming 100% double at Floyd Cove!) most of them do not bloom 100% double here. Sometimes they have only part of the segments. LMM does bloom prolifically, however, and usually consistently reblooms until frost.
Clump pic of LMM and typical blooms:

Elfin Magic blooming now - LOVE the colors on this!

This fall, if time allows, I hope to list a few of the small and mini flowers that grow here on the Lily Auction.

the plant database??? Feeling really like a newbie here...

OMG! I just saw the tab up above...says Plant Database! Rolling on the floor laughing

Thanks for the pic though. That is pretty much what I saw but it was LITTLE...so now i'm hugely curious for mine to bloom...might have to go back to that farm and ask them about it... The fans I have are little too...clumped pretty tightly together. Oh well. It's pretty regardless.

All of the plants that I pictured above came directly from their hybridizers. Mayor of Munchkinland came from Tim Herrington in GA and all of Grace's came from Floyd Cove when the Stamiles were still there.
