Does anyone recognize this weed? It popped up in one of my flower beds so I dug it and potted it up until I could find it's identity. We have so many weeds here in Florida but I don't remember ever seeing this one before so it must be a hitch-hiker that came along for a ride with another plant.

Hi Lin...boy that three leave configuration is everywhere... Green Grin! (and you know how well I match things... Thumbs down ) I first wondered if maybe a wild member of the geranium family from the leaves...but the flower is way off. (page 28) and ranunculus was sorta the same...oh yeah...but no.(pg 47)

Moon: LOL, my first thought was wild Geranium too; Geranium carolinianum is a native here but upon closer inspection I realized it wasn't that. Then I thought maybe Eryngium ... wrong again. Thanks for trying to help.

Kent: Thanks so much .... it's definitely Sanicula canadensis!

Thanks again for the ID! Thumbs up

Black snake root is one of those plants that comes up at these plant forums again and again, and there's no decent pictures to be found for it online...

I was recently attempting to shoot pictures, and I couldn't do any better...

I'm going to have to stop digging this plant out... until I get some decent pics...

Some shots of the rosette, and the flower, and the entire plant with seeds... All from the same specimen... would be a start...

But who remembers to shoot their weeds?

*Blush* Guilty ... I hate to pull something up if I'm not sure what it is ... so I usually take pictures to upload here to get ID from our wonderful and knowledgeable members!
