I have started a couple "garden rooms" in my backyard. This photo is of my outdoor patio room. We made the patio, installed the fence, made the arbor and installed it as well. DIY sure can save ya a lot of $$!

This is how it looks from the outside of that patio room.

And then we added a room leading out from the arbor. This is my hummingbird, bee, and butterfly garden. Most of the plants are nectar and host plants for the flying critters.

And this is the view looking through the cattle panel arbor into the butterfly and hummer garden room. I want to add some seating in there next. :-)

Angele - My plant list is many, but most are butterfly and hummingbird plants. The 3-tiered bed has mostly daylilies in it now. Some of the plants include: Cape Honeysuckle, Caladiums, I. indica vine, Cross vine, Black and Blue Salvia, Water Lotus, Zinnias, Porterweed, Passionflower vines, roses, Morning Glory vines, Clematis, Flame bush, Shrimp Plant, Dahlias, Bacopa, Freesia, 4 O'Clocks, Jasmine bush, Cassia, Ditch Lilies, Crocosmia, and others I don't remember off hand. I grow everything because I never gardened before 2004, so I like to try everything! LOL! It's a modge podge of plants. Thanks for the nice compliment. I am sooo ready for Spring! Tired of this cold weather!

I didn't start gardening till 2006 or even 07, I had some plants of course but no real flower beds. I thought I had a brown thumb & made a hobby out of learning all about wildflowers.

my garden room happened by accident. it started when i took a section of the yard for my garden so i made it like a room and wouldnt let anyone in. i had lattice all around it but ike took the lattice down and my garden overflowed.. ill post a pic i have to go to the other computer and i dont want to retype ....

Me, too! Found out my thumbs weren't so brown afterall. I just needed to research before jumping into gardening! ;-)

So ... do you plan on expanding this year?

oh yeah, mostly finishing things i started last yr.. i have the pond and bog on the other side to put finishing touches on and then on to the front
