DH received a pretty bouquet. What are these gorgeous stalks of periwinkle blue/violet flowers?

Cheryl - you said that delphinium is not for your zone - why is that?

We grow them here, are the summers too hot? There are a few with good heat tolerance and they can be planted in partial sun and mulched with compost.

I think it said Zone 5-6-7? I am in 9a. We have long hot summers. It has been skirting 100* for the past 4 weeks. I will take a look at my favorite nursery whom I trust not to sell out-of-zone plants. If Ramon has them, they will grow here. Sure are pretty!!

Delphiniums thrive in cool soil and moist conditions but you can try Larkspur, they are generally the replacement for Delphiniums in the hot/humid south.
