After 15 years my sweet little wolf girl is no longer with us, and I'd like to do a small memorial area with flowers containing her name. Anyone got any suggestions? I've found a daylily called Aurora Blues, and a dahlia called Aurora, but no one seems to have them. Same with roses. There appear to be some with that name, but not that I can find available.

Thanks. I appreciate the tip on the viburnum. After reading some of the descriptions, it sounds yummy. Smiling

Try typing just aurora into our database and you will be amazed at the plants

I have a white bleeding heart (the fringed type) named Aurora
there is a small hosta called Aurora
And a flowering dogwood

all fit tribute to a lovely animal

Oh, I tried that, and you're right, there are lots listed. I'm just having difficulty finding any that are available to buy! The bleeding heart would be nice, I do like bleeding heart and I may be able to actually find that one. Smiling Unfortunately, it's a bit late in the year (or early, depending) to be looking for some of these plants. I'd really like to find a rose or a daylily. And the dahlia is gorgeous! -- but unavailable. sigh. I'll have to go look at that dogwood, I didn't notice that one. And DH likes dogwood. Heh, maybe I should be looking for wolfbane? Hilarious!

Thank you for the kind words. We tried to give her the best life we could. She's the main reason my garden is where it is. We built it surrounding her kennel so I could be with her (and to keep the stupid goats away from her!)

Thank you, Margaret. I've managed to order a couple of plants so far, daylily Aurora Blues and that white bleeding heart. And a small bronze statue of a wolf. Smiling We're thinking about turning her kennel into a pet memorial area, with plants to honor some of our other departed darlings, too.

Well, so far, so good! Got my daylily "Aurora Blues" today, along with the Dicentra formosa "Aurora." Both look to be viable plants....small, but viable (if I don't screw things up! Hilarious! ). And the little statue I ordered came yesterday and it's just lovely! I may have to get a second one to keep indoors!
Getting her kennel safe to walk around in, though, is going to be a major project! She was a world class digger, and the weeds have grown up to hide the holes. Eeek! Going to have to be careful.

Mine too. It's hard to go out to take care of the garden; I keep expecting to see her. It's been fortunate that we've had a LOT of rain since losing her, so I've been able to skate by without doing too much. That's all over starting today, tho. 88 deg for the forecast!

Some are large enough to get lost in...tractor and all Blinking Blinking Note to self...get the manual out for the weed wacker so I can undo whatever it is that I did so I can wack around holes without falling in Rolling my eyes.
