We grew maybe 75 plants this year and we used 75 pots. Smiling We have a whole room full of nursery cans that we've accumulated over the years.

We're slowly starting to get some tomatoes. One Bolseno, a hybrid, but I like it because it is acidic and I'm not fond of sweet tomatoes. Also Martin, another hybrid. Got both seeds on sale at Johnny's and of course they are not carrying Bolseno any longer and can't seem to find it anywhere. A hybrid so I cannot save seeds. We're hoping to have tomatoes for market next week.

Sure would be nice to set out tomatoes in March! This year it sure wouldn't have worked but I might try it next year...really push it Hilarious!

Yikes!!That is a serious tomato!!!! I've grown them once before but didn't nearly get fruits that size. Perhaps the weather in TX is favorable to them than the weather in IN. Now I think I might need to try growing Kellogg's Breakfast again!!!

My variety that I grow that puts out the biggest fruit is Beefmaster. Not as big as Daves Kelloggs Breakfast though.

Dave--you need to sell seeds from that huge-tomato!!!!

Right now, I crave any fresh tomato. Our spring was cold/wet, so most tomatoes aren't more than 1-2" in diameter and very green. Even the cherry tomatoes aren't ripening yet. I need to move to a warmer growing zone. Smiling

We did indeed save seed from most of the giant tomatoes that have been produced this year. We're only saving seeds from the very best selection. The ones that aren't up to standard aren't being saved. Thumbs up
