Last year a lady in town gave me several "what she called" (based on her boss) Bellingham Lilies. I was told by someone I trust that they look like a cross between Bellingham x L. kelloggii. First photo is of this ladies yard. 2nd and third are what bloomed this week for me. She gave me 2 labeled as: 1. Bellingham PINK and 2. Bellingham Red-Orange.

My yard - PINK only, red-orange should bloom next week

Really beautiful lilies, Michael. I assume you remove the anthers in the last pic. (?)

I haven't had much luck with western North American lilies. But the journey is the fun part for me, and I keep trying. Just this past NARGS seed ex, in the second round there was still Lilium humboltii available, so I snatched some up. Such a special species, I thought it best to let people with a better chance get the seed first, and if there were leftovers, than I would grab them. nodding

I have five seedlings now.....

Nice plants, Mike. You're lucky to get them. Just goes to show that with lilies, every now and then, something nice comes along that makes a person happy! Thumbs up

Yes, I saved the anthers to cross with L. pardalinum. (When it blooms). We have no club or society for lilies in my area. You would think with Sun Valley Group having its offices and operations, plus the home of Leslie Woodriff there would be something. NOTHING

I crossed this Bellingham x L. kelloggii PINK with L. parryi. hopefully it will take. I live in Humboldt County (Next to Eureka, Calif) where they say 9 wild lilies grow in this area. L. pardalinum, L. occidentale, L. kelloggii, etc. .
