I just ordered some one-ounce pkts of lettuce seed (and one endive and a dwarf Bok Choy).

Would anyone want a little of this or that, somewhat above my cost, plus pay the postage from me to you? I would ask that you pay by PalPal if at all possible.

The pro-rated cost, including the S&H I've already paid, would be 20 to 35 cents per gram for most of them ... one gram is around 800 lettuce seeds.

So, as usual, the cost will be almost entirely for postage.

I only got a little of the 'Matina Sweet' butterhead, so I'll only offer a a few 1/4 teaspoon, approx half-gram pkts (around 400 seeds each). This one is "pricy" - 80 cents per 1/4 tsp

The one ounce pkts, I would sell pkts around one gram each, say 1/2 teaspoon.
Probably a limit of two grams per type per person.

I'm dividing with measuring spoons, so the weights will be approximate

I think postage for a bubble mailer is now $2.07 for the first 3 ounces
Call it $2.50 for your postage with the cost of mailer.

This is done a little hastily, so I should double-check before we say "done deal".

What is the etiquette of offering to sell things for acorns? Is that gauche? Is there any accepted "exchange rate"?

I would certainly "sell" small quantities of the seeds themselves for acorns, but not necessarily the $2.50 postage

I personally value acorns at about 10 acorns to the dollar. That's how I arrived at the ATP shirt price: $12.50 or 125 acorns. That has worked out pretty well. So raffle tickets (5 acorns) cost what I would consider to be 50 cents.

Rick, I'd love some of your lettuce and can paypal you whatever you think is appropriate. We grow a lot of lettuce in the fall but don't have any seed yet so if I got some from you I'd be all set.

I finally figured out that I could get pretty close to one gram if I picked the right size measuring spoon, and then used a little scale to figure out "heaping" or "scant".

Between DG, Cubits and ATP, I'm in your debt by a whole big lot. How much pleasure have I gotten from those three sites? Put aside the measuring spoons and start counting the cubic yards.

Besides, so many people have sent me seeds gratis that it's a pleasure to return the favor, forward.
