Looks great John!! Also, I've noticed that my arach semps (the webby type) need full sun to get the full webbiness (people may have posted this above, but I'm too lazy to scroll up Sticking tongue out Hilarious! So that does look like red cobwebs, it just needs more sun to cobweb up!) Looks very healthy though, and really doesn't matter if its webby or not! Thumbs up

Wow, you guys are making me homesick!! I grew up in Sonoma County (3rd generation) and truly miss gardening there-it's a little less challenging than Minnesota! I was born in Santa Rosa and have lived in Fulton and Sebastopol-in addition to several other places nearby Smiling Beautiful photos, John!

Hi Deb, I am fairly new to Sebastopol, moved up here 2 years ago from San Jose after being there all my life. Love it here!
I would think Minnesota is a drastic change! Hilarious!

Yep, pretty much everything is a little different Smiling And many of my favorite "old stand by's" won't survive the winters here. I've managed to find quite a few new favorites, though!!

Well it is going to be interesting to see what happens with the red cobweb. This morning when I went out to look at the plants I noticed the large rosette on the bottom right of that photo was a strange dark and kind of transparent green color. When I went to look a bit closer the whole pot of plants just came right out of the pot. no roots the soil was soaking wet and that plant was totally rotting. I have only had the plant for a week it has been on my sunporch out of the rain and I have not watered it at all. I think the nursery I got if from has been watering the plants to much and the soil is very heavy. I got the black from the same place same heavy soil and was really wet too. I had such a crazy day today so just took the black out of the pot and tomorrow I will plant them all in a lighter better drained soil and see if I can save some of the plants out of the red cobweb that was a very unhappy pot full of semps.

Oh John, that is terrible. But you should be able to save them all. Just remove any/all rotted parts and let them dry for a few days before planting. They are tough and should form new roots in no time.
Can you take a photo of the under side of them?

Wow, some one forgot to tell the nursery they are drought tolerant. Blinking

Good photos John.
First step, remove all damaged roots and leaves. All of them.
Leave them to dry for several days, out of direct sun.
Once thoroughly dry place into fast draining soil with a top dressing of chicken grit/pea gravel.
Water sparingly. Still keep them out of direct sun, but need bright light/filtered sun.

You may be able to save them all. Thumbs up

I picked up some semps that were rotted in their pots for dirt cheap at a local nursery a couple years back because I knew they could be cleaned up and re-rooted. I think it was a large pot of Burning Star.

It may not hurt to use a bit of Rootone rooting compound on the wounded underpart as a fungicide in case there's still some rot hanging around. It's got a good fungicide in it. Captan or Banrot are also good. You don't have to use fungicide - I usually don't, but it doesn't hurt and can help if the semps are really really nasty.
