Ok got them all potted up now will wait and see I also transplanted the one named Black that came from the same place.

Sue I got the plants from King's nursery in Santa Rosa looks like the grower of the plants is Homestead Gardens so it seems that is the soil Homestead uses.

I'll keep you posted on the progress of the red cobweb as soon as they adjust I am going to introduce them to more light.

Love Kings, great place to go get ideas for potted combinations! A bit on the pricey side for some things but the eye candy is worth the trip.

John, I think most growers and nurseries are just trying to grow/sell plants that will survive temporarily, and that it isn't anything malicious, rather ignorant about cold hardy succulents (or any other plant with specific needs) Glad you repotted them, I'm sure they'll be fine now! Especially if its dry where you are I tip my hat to you.

Well I am keeping my fingers crossed I have lost a few more of the babies that just got dark clear and thats that.
I potted them up but did not give them any water I thought it would be best until the rot stops.

All that you are witnessing, John, will be part of the bigger "Learning experience" and you will notice that some of this and that will happen that will have nothing to do with soil, water, exposure, origin of purchase, etc. Thank goodness we have places to go to buy new semps to make us feel better. So back to planning my next weekend trip to the nurseries nearby... Big Grin

I loved the color and makings blue/gray plants with purple tips and looks like watermarked.

There are many different varieties of tectorum. That is a beauty you have there John.
If you want to you can add it to this entry in the database. Hen and Chicks (Sempervivum tectorum)
