I hope someone can put a name on this one, which is growing in my veggie garden in Idaho. It was here when I moved in a month ago, and is probably a weed. I have two or three of them, and haven't seen any others. It's a little over 5 feet tall, and the flowers are 1 inch across. The very bottom leaves are about 4 to 5 inches long, and they get shorter toward the top. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

It's Moth Mullein (Verbascum blattaria).

Kent, when I saw the name Verbascum, I hit myself in the forehead. Hilarious! It's been driving me nuts. I have grown Verbascum Phoeniceum, which is one of my favorite plants, and I knew that I had seen this same sort of growth on this plant. I just couldn't remember the name. Mine doesn't look exactly like the ones in the photos, but I would say that it is probably the same plant, or very close to it. I'll do my best to get a picture of the entire plant tomorrow. As soon as I took these photos, we had to head to town. It's been pouring down raining since. I'll post an additional photo, since I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks!!!

Never mind. I'm totally convinced. I found some additional photos online that look just like mine.

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!
