I now have several nice 'Celadine' rooted plants, ranging from 16" up to 20". I have a couple of one-tipped plants and one that has a nice 6" flower stalk. The stalk is just about to produce blooms. Two plants have three-tips. One of them is forming a flower stalk and the tips are 5-7". The other one has tips that are 10-12" long. I have a nice, plump two-tip plant that looks to be forming two more tips. All these 'Celadine' plants are growing in 1 gal pots and would be shipped bare-root.

I will also have numerous other varieties that are in different stages of rooting. I also have several 'Scott Pratt' that were just cut and are in "rooting" pots. I can ship them as cuttings or pre-order the rooted plants.

Tree-Mail me is interested in the 'Celadine' or want to know what else I will have over the coming weeks.

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!
I just wanted to check in and report on my beginner's attempt at growing Plumerias. You sent me a cutting of Celadine a couple of months back with great instructions. I planted it in a pot - hoping to move it to a garden bed when it was well rooted. I knew it had sprouted a couple of small leaves, but it surprised me yesterday with a single yellow bloom ! On closer inspection, it appears to me that it has also sprouted 3 branches and 4 or 5 leaves and still has what I believe are more flower buds forming! I was doing a happy dance all evening! It arrived with a strange "crown" effect at the growing end, but I wasn't sure what that was all about. I've been waiting to see what it all would develop into and by golly, it's gonna be a great plant. I'll try to take pictures this weekend and upload them next week.

Thank you for a great growing experience, Ken!

I tip my hat to you.

In my opinion, 'Celadine' is as good as it gets when it comes to rooting, growing, using as root-stock, flowering, and fragrance. Too many people new to plumeria growing, purchase hard-to-root plumeria cuttings and when they die, they think they did something wrong. 'Celadine' belongs in everyone's collection. I was told by a large grower/hybridizer on Maui that Celadine's fragrance is what all other plumerias' fragrances are judged by.

Again, this is just me talking, if someone doesn't have a lot of experience in rooting cuttings, and if he/she wants difficult-to-root plumeria, purchase those that are rooted. Pay a few dollars more for piece of mind. A dead plant, regardless of how little money was spent for it, is still money wasted.

drdawg,
I know this is an old post, but do you still have any rooted Celadine left?

Thanks,
Mike

I have some really nice, plump ones, Mike. Single and multi-tipped ones. Contact me via Tree-Mail if you would like a quote.

Mima, I know I have some Scott Pratt in bloom, but to tell you the truth, I haven't really looked closely to see what has formed a flower stalk. I had several 'Celadine' in bloom, but sold every one of them. It is still dark outside and in an hour I am leaving for Houston, TX. for our (MSU) first football game. I will return Sunday evening and will check and see what is blooming and/or has a flower stalk in place. Ken

drdawg,

I'm in the middle of a rooting experiment, but I'd like a Celadine for it's roof stock abilities. I'm looking forward to trying my hand at grafting.

Have fun this weekend! You'll be rooting on your dawgs, while I'm rooting for mine!

GO HUSKIES! Hurray!

Mike, do you want a single-tipped, well-rooted Celadine?

Yes, I might be. Do you have any pics? Any idea for shipping a plant that big?
