You may be right as too much water wouldn't sit well with underground tubers, an invitation to rot. What kind of soil mix? I use Miracle Grow. If you carry out an exploratory inquest to determine if therein lies the problem, let me know the results. Once you get a good thing going with with these tubers..., mine replicate double every season.

Well, yup.... a big pot (be it clay), the soil was OK I guess, a mix with sand and didn't look really-really wet, but I think it was the size of the pot and the fact that with the hot days, we think we need to water more frequently.
I found 3 tubers (rather small in size) I think the big ones rotted.
Well, I hope to keep these 3 alive.

I had these in a large pot in my other garden but for some reason they never reappeared after I moved, lost track of them with the over 600 pots of plants I brought with me. Blinking Love their exotic look and I really like how you have them flanking the doorway!

I've actually never done that but I hear it's fairly easy. In favorable enviornments I understand they display a robust spreading reputation that might border on invasive. I'll check that forum and leave note of what I've heard.
All of my stock (couple hundred or so) have come by tuber multiplication.

There is no way I can grow these gorgeous flowers here. So I'm ignoring you. Really. I am. Honest. Hilarious!
