I'm sure over the years I will add clematis. The place came with two superb honeysuckle. My tall dahlias are perfect against it.

Jennifer I am so jealous of your fence. This has been a bad year for deer here.
There is a " covenant" in this development,Fence of any kind in on the NO list.
Your pl;ace is very nice, the rocks look great.

My neighbor loves to tell me the storybof the day the rocks arrived. He said there was so much noise when they delivered them he thought the world might be ending when they dropped the first load!

I moved some things inside the fence that the deer are over winter. But unfortunately the fence does nothing about the rabbits!

Get the Milorganite and sprinkle it around. They hate the smell and the plants love it but it stinks so try using an old shaker with large holes like parmesian cheese or Osmacote container. I just use the latex gloves and throw it around. Whoa!! Whistling

Jo Ann can tell you she has done dozens. But Dave gave the basics in the post in site updates. The purpose is to allow plants to be seen in a grouping and identify each plant in the group, while the name is linked to the database with all the specifics for that plant.

http://garden.org/thread/view_...

The trick is to get the plant ID# from the database or the URL from the internet address line. Either will link the plant name to the database.

Some people use two windows open at same time, some gather the data on a sep. document page before they start and just cut and paste.

Hope that helps and is not too confusing. Blinking

Yes, that helps a lot!! My main problem was that I did not know how to get to it. I kept thinking I had missed something. I did not realize it was under Webapps....duh!.. Smacking my head.
There was no separate thread with a meaningful title like, ' HERE IS HOW YOU DO IT'. Whistling

The purpose is to allow plants to be seen in a grouping...
do you mean your photo of echinacea and my photo of echinacea and everyone else's photo of echinaceas, or are you talking about my photo with echinacea, delphinium, balloon flower and rudbeckia?

That's where I am confused. So if it's to group everyone's echinacea photo, that's why you use the database ID#? URL from internet address line of WHAT? the echinacea database?

Sorry if I seem dense but this is just not soaking in here. Confused

Your not dense,It takes some patience and I resisted for awhile but once yhou Get-it .Its the only way to fly.

Here is my take on the Webapps.
If you take long views of your garden or have an image of a grouping aka your photo of echies, You can "tag" each plant in the photo.
Tagging is easier if you access the plant database or even easier if you make a list of all your garden plants. It took me the better part of a day.BUT with your list you can open a separate window and copy and past from your list.
OR you can just write the plant name in the window that opens.

Its extra steps I know but so much easier to refer people who want a plant name from your photo.
If you post the same photo on several threads in separate forums , you get asked the same question over again from gardeners accessing the thread.
I refer questions to my webapp image and they can get the plant names for ALL the tagged plants in the image.

It is worth the effort and time.

Okay, so it is to tag one of MY photos with multiple flowers to identify. I can see it may be a bit tedious but worth the time.

Thanks, Jo Ann for explaining that to me! Thumbs up

Arlene, believe me I am always looking for the simplest and quickest way to anything.
It did take time to make my list but I have kept files for years, all I did was open the file for a certain garden and there were the plants. The dropdown box is a help in that when you type "Astilbe Rh " the box lists plants with those first letters.

I agree That is what I was thinking too. I am been so busy I have not had the time to read the threads much less do an actual webapp. Now that I know what to do I can collect pictures and information so when I sit down to do one it should fall into place.
Thanks so much for your help!! Jo Ann and Marilyn I was hoping someone would simplify things for me because I really did not know where to start. *Blush*

Jo Ann, Have you tried plantskydd for the deer? I've used it and it helped a lot. It was a prize on one of the raffle-not-a raffle and I don't remember who won it but I remember they posted that they thought it worked good too.
I did an image set recently and if computer illiterate me can do it I bet anybody could. Whistling
