On a cruise from which I just returned we stopped at Grand Turk in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Here is the Turk's Cap cactus growing there,

THAT is their natural look or formation? Very unusual and was wondering how the top part relates to the bottom?... (I know, dumb question, but I haven't had my coffee yet?...)

Spiny cactus lost their allure when a 4 foot specimen in my greenhouse tipped over and impaled me .. thankfully I wear glasses! Extricating myself was very painful and painstaking.

But I must admit, I do like both of the 'Turks Cap' pictured.

It was a peruvianus sitting on the potting bench in a way too small pot and it brought home the fact that gardening can be painful and dangerous! Lol
