Got home Sunday evening after being at the convention since Tuesday, so I've been semi-comatose all day. Had a wonderful time meeting so many people, sometimes meeting old friends for the first time. :)

Thank you ~ truly an honor since this was my first time showing and having attended only 1 show several years ago. Luck of the Irish, ya know. The people that really ought to be proud are the ones that created it and those that had the good sense to make it available to us consumers.

Wow, Lankon! I hadn't really been impresed with it, but that stem is fabulous. Changes my mind :D

Stunning room of blooms. Love the bathtub full! But really, if you guys in the US don't recycle your wine and beer bottles for lily stems, what do you do with them all???

Oh, golly gee, that is a fine example! The bathtub photo is a winner in itself! I imagine a little ice would have been ok at cooling the air in the tub (?)

Heck, I didn't even show you the two buckets. It was a toss up between keeping the AC cranked to cool some lilies and steaming the bathroom repeatedly to force others to open. A bit of a gamble deciding which ones to take since I wanted to be there on Tuesday to help set up and the judging wasn't until Friday. A couple stems finally decided to make their debut when it was time to go home on Sunday.

They got the 'tub treatment' because I had cut them 2 days earlier so that they would be limp for transport, which was a 3 hour drive. And limp they were! I had to tie Lankon to the luggage cart to get it in the hotel. It's a minor miracle that it did so well. This whole thing was certainly a learning experience ~ a good one. And you get to meet some pretty awesome people

I know the feeling, 'but' you did it!!!! and results paid off. :thumb .........3 hours ,whooo, you can have that! --7 minutes is enough of a hair pulling ordeal for me.. Im sure the council 'roughens up the roads' here..on the weekend we have a lily show!

I'm sorry I didn't go, especially since Dr. ki-Byung Lim spoke at the last minute.

Did any of you hear his talk?

Yep, quite in-depth ~ right down to chromsomes ~ but he kept it interesting.

What did he say specifically about Lilium hansonii?
--- about what is in commerce now, as opposed to what is in the wild.
--- did anyone ask him about this?
People on the yahoo lilium group seem pretty quite about this.

Really wish I could tell you, Rick, but to be honest the talks are a little foggy and I had to leave this one early to attend to other duties.
