These storms are something else! I got held up in Nashville after leaving my DH at the airport - nearly ended up stalled in a low spot in the road - the flooding was incredible.

And more coming today, oh goody!

Everyone okay?

So far, so good here on this end of the state, despite lots of rain and wind. It looks like parts of Memphis might be under water, though, in addition to what you're seeing in Nashville. Two weekends in a row of this stuff is enough already!

On the bright side, at least I'll get some laundry done today since it's too wet to work outside. I've spent every waking moment in the yard on the good weather days.

Yeah, I've been feeling really bad for the Mon-Friday crew, it always seems to hit on the weekends.

Glad you're okay.

I'd feel better if we heard from our other members, especially from the middle and western parts of the state. They seem to have gotten the worst of this recent weather.

They're predicting heavy rains and wind tonight for the Knoxville, with flash flooding warnings already issued.

I'm sure, if you're getting what we have - it just seems never ending. Batten the hatches, Red.

Hey, can you guys HEAR me?

Made it through okay over here; 7" of rain only, compared to 12 or 20" in other places. Minor basement flooding; 13 tornadoes in the 'alley' between May 1 and 2. Spent Fri and Sat nights in the basement with my friend the weather radio. Never lost power, but did lose all phone, cellular and home, along with internet, for two days.

Garden may never actually get started this year unless I change to rice plantings :/

Just thankful me and the critters are safe.

I'm Aokay! Was out of town when the storms hit and got back just as the roads were being opened.

I need to pick brains here. I think my ex-BF used my gmail account to set up a You tube account. I tried to delete it but it's tied into my gmail account and they said if one gets deleted both are deleted. Can't reach a human at google or You Tube. Any ideas on how to fix this? I think the creep is putting up stuff using my gmail address and may be trying to cause me problems.

Set up a new e-mail account, forward any important mails and contacts from the old to the new, and then close both the old email and the YouTube account. It's a major hassle, but your account is hopelessly compromised now. The problems from what he could post under your identity far exceeds having to change e-mail addresses now.

On the bright side, this is a chance to cut down on spam for a while until your new account is discovered.

Thanks Red that's a good idea. I had all my business connections going to that account since I could reach it from anywhere in the world. I guess they wouldn't be hard to change to the new one. I don't get any spam (just lucky so far) but that's not a reason to keep it.

I did email him from that account letting him know I was aware what he was up to. If I get a response from him I will forward it to the FBI since it crosses state lines. Back in the 1990's I had someone harass me and I contacted them about it. They took care of it right away. Worked with the isp to pin down the harassers and put a stop to their nonsense. I wouldn't be upset to set them on him Smiling

What with moving and all I hadn't noticed that all the seedlings I had ws and potted on were doing backstrokes! I had set their pots in plastic tubs to make watering easier and sure enough the tubs held all the rain water that got on the porch! Lots of stuff was set in front of these so I never noticed till just now that they needed help.

I lost all the salvias, mexican sun flowers and a few petunias that had sprouted :-(

Time to start over but from what I'm hearing I fared way better than others who lost their homes and entire gardens so no complaints here.

I sure wouldn't want to be in their shoes right now. It is so overwhelming to have to start over suddenly. I just hope God eases their burden so it is manageable.

Molly, If you dont think its too late, I still have a few mexican hat, mexican sunflower and petunia seeds. lots of those in fact. you probably could direct sow in the ground, I guess.

my dad is having eye surgery tomorrow and I have to take him back on Tuesday, but I'll get some seeds out this week if you want to try. I'd be glad to share.

Thanks Phyl! I appreciate that. They ( the mexiacn sunflowers) sprouted pretty fast the last time so they should be okay. My summer is pretty long here so there is always time for more Smiling
