thanks! the bread basket was sort of a 'me' site...I wanted to learn to bake bread. we had several people giving us advice, lots of people submitting recipes, but since we've been gardening, it's slowed way down!

I need to put this group back in my signature. I erased them when I put that silly quote on there.

Over on the other site, I've been trying to teach them to make butter. I don't know how to leave a link, but if you can find it, and know how to make butter, maybe you can give a few pointers, too!

Audrey, if you right click on the info thats in your IE box at the top of the page,
(it looks like this one, http://cubits.org/tngardens/th... )))
you can 'copy' the link to the page you're helping with the butter class, then when you're back over here, you can right click again and 'paste' the link here. I think thats an easy way to do it.

I never did it myself but my BF says her mom used to put the cream in a pint jar, then give to her older kids, telling them to shake it real hard and it would make butter. they'd play around with it and dance with it, and make butter. go figure

we should try it! its probably way better for us.

if butter is good for us.

I found a bread machine at the Goodwill store yesterday for $7.99 Works great! I made a loaf of bread while I was putting up fence today. Came inside to a yummy slice of homemade bread. I'm finding some really good buys at the Goodwill store. Two weeks ago I found a waffle iron for $3. and yesterday I snagged a coffee maker for $6. All are in nearly new condition too.

Good Job! now sell it on eBay =) many, many people on the Bread Basket have talked about finding breadmakers at Goodwill but ours never has good buys like that.

Molly, I sent a conglomeration of seeds Thursday, I think. hope you find something to replace what you lost.

Rolling on the floor laughing hope you can recognize them when they sprout!

Thanks for the seeds. I'm sure I can find spots for them (and it will drive my nosy neighbor crazy since she thinks I already have too many flowers!).

No way am I selling it! That thing made the best bread with the least work on my part. My hands can't do kneading anymore and this was a totally knead free operation. What I may do is go back for the other one and put that one on Ebay! Thanks for the great idea Phyl Smiling

Anyone need glass? It suddenly occurred to me that I've been trying to rid myself of this stack of glass panels that is in my barn and never asked if anyone wanted it. I'll gladly trade it for plants!! Hilarious! Sizes range from small to really big (almost 49" across). There are several door size panels too. C mail me if you are interested even if you don't have plants to trade. I really hate to toss this stuff in the dump but I need it gone by next Friday. I'm getting my barn ready for animals and the two just don't mix well.

How did the ground get so hard in Tn???? I'm using a post pounder to get some T-post into the ground and no matter where I put them they just don't want to go in. Any secrets to doing this in Tn?? I'm getting blisters on my hands from this job! I use to do 6 or 7 in a couple of hours back in NY and I thought that ground was rocky!!!!

Huh.... I have very rocky soil, but haven't had a problem getting them in. The only thing I can suggest is waiting until a good rain has soaked the soils. Or rent a teenager, lol....

Wish I could rent a teenager! My hands are hurting real bad from the blisters. A storm is about to arrive so I will test your water idea Smiling Besides it makes a good excuse to not go back to the job today!

It was so difficult that I was sure I was on a ledge. I know I do have rock ledges in other parts of my land but I sure hope not everywhere I want to sink a post in!!

Do you know what the kit is called that you use to create corner braces when using t-post for fencing? I know Tractor Supply has them but I wasn't sure what it was called.
