After spending the last 2 weeks taking inventory of the garden, I seemed to have lost a lot of lily bulbs this year.

I'm sure there are others as I have many in containers that I haven't looked at yet. There are a number of older lilies that have not returned. I have been disappointed by many of the new Orienpets in the purple range. They just don't look like their cheesecake photos in the catalogs

I was shocked by how many have disappeared over the last couple of years!! I spent so much money on all these bulbs. I can't keep doing that now, especially since our circumstances have changed drastically this past year. I think I need to stick with mostly Asiatics that are known to be very hardy and multiply well.

I began to find that those pretty faces in catalogs just didn't match reality too!

Hmmm -anybody get prolonged annual blooms, from 'Tiger Woods' 'Dizzy'...It just doesn't hang on here!...Centrefold 'folded' years ago...

Claudia, were affected by last year's drought?

I am not sure. Like Centerfold was fine last year then just gone....POOF! Triumphator I had dug and relocated last fall just moved it over about a foot....gone! Salmon Star and Henry's Surprise never put on a strong show so I think they just fizzled away.

I have wonder too if rodents got them.....we do have a nice mouse and vole & chipmunk population out here!
