Do these look like the same bugs? I was out walking around the yard this morning and noticed a few of these critters on the Scarlet Milkweed (Asclepias curassavica) but when googling I couldn't find anything regarding pests of Asclepias other than aphids.

No, those are not what I have. but I found what you have. They are milkweed bugs.
